Clara Mabel es un relato visual construido con imágenes rescatadas del álbum familiar del autor, Javier Gramuglia. El fotolibro narra la historia de su madre, quien murió en un aborto clandestino cuando él tenía 11 años, poniendo en evidencia los efectos que la prohibición del aborto causó en la sociedad argentina, los cuales no solo afectaron a la persona gestante (víctima directa), sino que se extendieron a la familia, amistades y entorno social, transformando sus vidas para siempre.

El 30 de diciembre de 2020, mientras este libro estaba siendo impreso y luego de décadas de lucha, el Congreso Nacional aprueba la Ley de Interrupción Voluntaria del Embarazo (IVE) de Argentina.

La primera versión del libro fue realizada en el workshop “Photobook as an object”, de la editora japonesa especializada en derechos humanos, Yumi Goto.

Clara Mabel is a visual story built with images rescued from the family album of the author, Javier Gramuglia. The photobook tells the story of his mother, who died in a clandestine abortion when he was 11 years old, highlighting the effects that the prohibition of abortion caused in Argentine society, which not only affected the pregnant person (direct victim), but also extended to the family, friends and social environment, transforming their lives forever.

On December 30, 2020, while this book was being printed and after decades of struggle, the National Congress approves Argentina’s Law on the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy (IVE).

The first version of the book was produced in the workshop «Photobook as an object», by the Japanese editor who is specialist in human rights, Yumi Goto.

«No somos lo que te esperas» es un fotolibro con autoría colectiva de cuatro mujeres de entre 16 y 25 años. A través de imágenes analógicas que van de 1995 a 2003, cuenta sus vidas en comunidades punk en Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, México, España y Alemania. La edición narra la historia puertas adentro y los vínculos con los movimientos de lucha por los DD.HH. y las libertades individuales como H.I.J.O.S., el movimiento LGTTBIQ+, lxs desocupadxs, Correpi (Coordinadora contra la Represión Policial e Institucional) y otrxs. El proyecto busca interrogar acerca del pasado y el presente de los movimientos contraculturales, las culturas subterráneas, y aportar una mirada diferente a las representaciones hegemónicas sobre el punk, los modos de hacer política y los lazos del underground con otras reivindicaciones sociales.

«We are not what you expect» is a collectively authored photobook by four women between the ages of 16 and 25. Through analog images from 1995 to 2003, it tells their stories in a punk community in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, Spain and Germany. The edition narrates the life behind closed doors and its links with movements fighting for human rights and individual liberties such as H.I.J.O.S., the LGTTBIQ+ movement, the unemployed movement, Correpi (Coordinating Committee against Police and Institutional Repression) and others. The project seeks to question the past and present of countercultural movements, subway cultures, and to provide a different view of the hegemonic representations of punk, the ways of doing politics and the links of the underground with other social demands.
